The Bandabuliya, or covered market is to the north of the Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque.

Originally the Famagusta covered market, and dating back to Venetian times, it is on the road leading to the sea gate and access to the port. A centre of commerce during Ottoman and British times, it fell into disrepair in the 1980s.

However, with the help of the UN Development Programme, it has been carefully restored and re-opened. It now houses cafes, restaurants, a bar and souvenir shops. It is also a popular live music venue.
