Kyrenia Market. Wednesday weekly.
Kyrenia municipal open air market. Here you will find fantastic value on a vast range of goods, especially fruit, vegetables, cheeses, yoghurts, oils and vinegars (often brought in from the country by farming families), fish, footwear, clothing and all sorts of odds and ends.

Famagusta Market. Thursday weekly.
Here you can buy about everything you might need; clothing, household items, flowers, fish and fresh fruit and vegetables. You can also buy freshly pressed olive oil there, mostly made by the vendor itself (and it does come very often in re-used bottles of J&B, Bells or Teachers!).

Guzelyurt Market. Saturday weekly.
Everything from clothes, shoes, nuts, sweets, olive oil, honey, home made cheese as well as fruit and vegetables are sold. Produce is fresh, and local people are encouraged to sell the excess from their own gardens. The market opens early, and continues till about 1pm. It is situated on the main street opposite the museum and church.

Lambousa Market. Saturday weekly.
Chateau Lambousa Arts and Crafts Fair. 10am to 2.30pm (or later). Stallholders include homebaked pastries and pies, homemade jams and marmalades. CDs, DVDs and book stalls. A variety of clothing and jewellery, antiques, paintings, sculptures and other arts and crafts.

Children's Film Show. Saturday weekly.
2pm. Free film screenings for children (age 9 and up) at Sidestreets, Nicosia. The films are sometimes in English, sometimes Turkish. For information phone 0392 22 93070/71. Sidestreets is past the post office, and opposite the law courts.

NCCCT Bingo, Wednesday Afternoons.
A bingo fundraiser for the charity takes place every Wednesday afternoon at central Kyrenia's Watermill Hotel. Bingo books cost each player YTL25 at the sessions, with 10% being donated to the Cancer Charity. All of the remainder goes into the prize fund.

The Supper Club, Sunday December 4th 2011.
THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED. Seriously cool and high energy black American Bruce Parker performs Soul and Motown. The Supper Club is the entertainment arm of the Children in Need Foundation, and funds raised contribute to all their projects. The 10,000 TL raised at the last Manhattans events went towards the 20,000TL spent on essential equipment, learning materials and a new Hot water system for the Special needs schools in Lefkosa.

Aladdin, 2nd to 12th December.
Chateau Lambousa. This traditional pantomime will have evening performances on the 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 6th and 7th December. There will also be matinee performances on the 5th, 6th and 7th December. Tickets cost 20TL for adults and 20TL for children. A pre performance meal is also available for 30TL.

Dance of Cyprus, Saturday 3rd December.
Famagusta. An 80-man dance spectacular by the Modern Folk Dance Association. The show, entitled “ The Island of Aphrodite and us”, is themed on Cyprus’ cultural traditions and mythology. For those in the Famagusta area, a charity performance will be held there on the 3rd December. A charity fundraiser. Ticket price and location tba.

Christmas Bazaar, Saturday 3rd December.
There are two Christmas Bazaars today.
10am, Teachers’ Hotel. Kyrenia Animal Rescue (KAR) features European style traditioinal stalls as well as cards, toys and cakes. Santa Clause will be present.
11am,Pia Bella Hotel. NCCCT,s bazaar has a Santa’s grotto, with gifts and drinks for children. Entrance is 10TL, but children accompanied by an adult are free. Drinks and refreshments will be available, and there will be a tombola and raffle.

Christmas Concert, Friday 2nd December.
7.30pm, Bellapais Abbey. The Kyrenia Chamber Choir, under the Direction of George Ward, will perform a Christmas Concert. Tickets are TL 20, and the proceeds will be donated to the Cancer Patients' Society. Wine and light refreshments will be available during the interval.
