10am TIC Laiki Yitonia, South Nicosia. Conducted tour of
southern Nicosia.
Monday. The tour is conducted on an old wooden bus and takes
visitors to two of the most peaceful areas in Nicosia; the historic
neighbourhood of Chrysaliniotissa within the old city walls and Kaimakli
area within the Municipality of Nicosia.
Thursday. This walking tour aims to give an overall picture of
the city within the walls and how it has evolved through the centuries.
Friday. This tour, also partially by bus, aims to show the
growth of the city outside the walls from the 19th century to the
present. Yet it also encompasses the prehistoric past of the city that
developed along the Pedieos River and the excavations testifying to
Nicosia's uninterrupted cultural continuity.
Remember, if you are visiting south Nicosia, Turkish Lira is
neither accepted or changeable.
