Kyrenia Market. Wednesday weekly.
Kyrenia municipal open air market. Here you will find fantastic value on a vast range of goods, especially fruit, vegetables, cheeses, yoghurts, oils and vinegars (often brought in from the country by farming families), fish, footwear, clothing and all sorts of odds and ends. (Back to top)

Famagusta Market. Friday weekly.
Here you can buy about everything you might need; clothing, household items, flowers, fish and fresh fruit and vegetables. You can also buy freshly pressed olive oil there, mostly made by the vendor itself (and it does come very often in re-used bottles of J&B, Bells or Teachers!). (Back to top)

Guzelyurt Market. Saturday weekly.
Everything from clothes, shoes, nuts, sweets, olive oil, honey, home made cheese as well as fruit and vegetables are sold. Produce is fresh, and local people are encouraged to sell the excess from their own gardens. The market opens early, and continues till about 1pm. It is situated on the main street opposite the museum and church. (Back to top)

Friends Coffee Morning. 1st, 2nd 3rd and Last Wednesdays.
11am. Friends of those in Need coffee morning. The first 3 Wednesdays of the month will be at Ginko Restaurant, Namik Kemal Square, Famagusta and is a social meeting. On the Last Wednesday, it will be a fund-raising meeting at the Terrace Beach bar, Bogaz. (Back to top)

Lambousa Market. Saturday weekly.
Chateau Lambousa Arts and Crafts Fair. 10am to 2.30pm (or later). Stallholders include homebaked pastries and pies, homemade jams and marmalades. CDs, DVDs and book stalls. A variety of clothing and jewellery, antiques, paintings, sculptures and other arts and crafts. (Back to top)

Children's Film Show. Saturday weekly.
2pm. Free film screenings for children (age 9 and up) at Sidestreets, Nicosia. The films are sometimes in English, sometimes Turkish. For information phone 0392 22 93070/71. Sidestreets is past the post office, and opposite the law courts. (Back to top)

BRS Karpaz Visit, 4th November.
Depart from the Civil defence Building, Kyrenia at 9.30am. There will be a coffee stop en route, followed by a visit to an oil and flour mill, before lunch at the Yenierinkoy Belidiye Beach Restaurant. Tickets cost 45TL for members and 50TL for non members (Karpaz members 25Tl/30TL) (Back to Top)

Remembrance Day, 8th November.
Services will be held at Waynes Keep and at Famagusta British cemetery.  A service will also be held at the Kyrenia British Cemetery where the British Cyprus Memorial Trust will unveil a Memorial to 371 British servicemen who died during the Cyprus Emergency (the EOKA Campaign) A dark-grey granite memorial will be unveiled. It will, eventually, be moved to Wayne's Keep if there is a political settlement. This service will be timed to coincide with the remembrance day service in the UK, as it is being televised there. It will start at 12.30pm, but space is limited, so expect to stand outside the gates and watch on a large TV screen. (Back to Top)

Sidestreets Film Season. Culture: A Taste of the Netherlands, 30th October and 2nd& 3rd November.
7pm. Sidestreets, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Netherlands, is pleased to present three nights of screenings of Dutch films that have won some 35 awards and prize nominations  between them: The Dutch Ambassador to Cyprus, H.E. Mr. Jan Eric van den Berg, will introduce the event, Dutch Short Films on Friday, 30 October 2009, at 19:00. A reception will follow. (All films are in Dutch with English Sub titles)

EMU International Night, 6th November.
6.30pm, Venetian Palace, Famagusta. Students from 68 countries at the EMU will be parading in their national costumes. Traditional food will be displayed and sold, and there will be a performance by the Municipal Folk dance Troupe. This will be followed by performances by groups from Nigeria, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan and Girne. There will also be a dance and fashion show by a group from Pakistan, and a concert by Iranian students. The night will end with a concert by EMU music department and Jazz Mania. (Back to Top)
