Tour of South Nicosia. Monday, Thursday and Friday weekly.
Conducted tour of South Nicosia. Meet 10am TIC Laiki Yitonia, South Nicosia.
Monday.

The tour is conducted on an old wooden bus and takes visitors to two of the most peaceful areas in Nicosia; the historic neighbourhood of Chrysaliniotissa within the old city walls and Kaimakli area within the Municipality of Nicosia.
Thursday.
This walking tour aims to give an overall picture of the city within the walls and how it has evolved through the centuries.
Friday.
This tour, also partially by bus, aims to show the growth of the city outside the walls from the 19th century to the present. Yet it also encompasses the prehistoric past of the city that developed along the Pedieos River and the excavations testifying to Nicosia's uninterrupted cultural continuity.

Remember, if you are visiting south Nicosia, Turkish Lira is neither accepted or changeable. (Back to top)

Kyrenia Market. Wednesday weekly.
Kyrenia municipal open air market. Here you will find fantastic value on a vast range of goods, especially fruit, vegetables, cheeses, yoghurts, oils and vinegars (often brought in from the country by farming families), fish, footwear, clothing and all sorts of odds and ends. (Back to top)

Famagusta Market. Friday weekly.
Here you can buy about everything you might need; clothing, household items, flowers, fish and fresh fruit and vegetables. You can also buy freshly pressed olive oil there, mostly made by the vendor itself (and it does come very often in re-used bottles of J&B, Bells or Teachers!). (Back to top)

Guzelyurt Market. Saturday weekly.
Everything from clothes, shoes, nuts, sweets, olive oil, honey, home made cheese as well as fruit and vegetables are sold. Produce is fresh, and local people are encouraged to sell the excess from their own gardens. The market opens early, and continues till about 1pm. It is situated on the main street opposite the museum and church. (Back to top)

Friends Coffee Morning. 1st, 2nd 3rd and Last Wednesdays.
11am. Friends of those in Need coffee morning. The first 3 Wednesdays of the month will be at Ginko Restaurant, Namik Kemal Square, Famagusta and is a social meeting. On the Last Wednesday, it will be a fund-raising meeting at the Terrace Beach bar, Bogaz. (Back to top)

Children's Film Show. Saturday weekly.
2pm. Free film screenings for children (age 9 and up) at Sidestreets, Nicosia. The films are sometimes in English, sometimes Turkish. For information phone 0392 22 93070/71. Sidestreets is past the post office, and opposite the law courts. (Back to top)

Turtle Nesting, June to August.
North Cyprus is one of the few turtle nesting areas in the Mediterranean. Every year student volunteers study these animals, and you can join them on one of their overnight expeditions. Numbers are limited, so it is essential that you pre-book at their headquarters, “The Goatshed” at Alagadi.  For more information on turtles and their nesting, follow the links. Cwmbach Choir, Friday 26th and Sunday 28th June.
The Cor Meibion Cwmbach (Cwmbach Male Voice Choir), from the village of Cwmbach, near Aberdare, South Wales, will be performing at Bellapais Abbey. Entrance will be 20TL. Tickets available from John Roberts, Tel 0542 8727950, or can be purchased from outside "Windows", Kyrenia, daily from 10am to 1pm. All proceeds will go to charity. Anglo Turkish Association First Aid Course, 20th and 27th June.
10.30am to12.30pm and 2pm to 4pm, Aurora Hotel (opposite Ezic Premiere). The Anglo Turkish Association, in association with Terry Carter and members of the 112 team  are holding a two day First Aid training course. (Certificates will be issued at the end of the 2 day course). Please wear old clothes as a lot entails being a patient in and around the venue. Jazzing Flamenco, Tuesday 23rd June.
9pm, Salamis Ampitheatre.The Antonio Najarro dance company are appearing as part of the Famagusta International Art and Culture Festival.
