Turtle Hatching. The Green and the loggerhead turtles visit Cyprus from the end of May into August to lay their eggs. Around 50 days later, the eggs hatch. You can witness this, by joining the researchers at their base “The Goat Shed” at Alagadi. Read a volunteer's diary.

The Society for the Protection of Turtles (SPOT) are holding fun days at the Riverside, Alsancak. Wed. 10am - 3pm. "Water Games Day" for all ages. Entrance 10YTL children and 5YTL adults. Famagusta market. Here you can buy about everything you might need; clothing, household items, flowers, fish and fresh fruit and vegetables. You can also buy freshly pressed olive oil there, mostly made by the vendor itself (and it does come very often in re-used bottles of J&B, Bells or Teachers!).

Guzelyurt Market. Everything from clothes, shoes, nuts, sweets, olive oil, honey, home made cheese as well as fruit and vegetables are sold. Produce is fresh, and local people are encouraged to sell the excess from their own gardens. The market opens early, and continues till about 1pm.
